Common questions

How do I get my collection onto my other device?

Sign in to the same Apple ID and turn on iCloud for the app (Settings > iCloud > Apps Using iCloud). Sync is automatic. If Settings > iCloud Sync shows a message, that explains what is blocking it, such as being signed out or iCloud storage being full. Per-device settings (appearance, Face ID lock, feature toggles, your API key) do not sync.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-in. Your Apple ID and iCloud handle sync.

How do lookups work, and what do they cost?

Lookups are optional. You add your own Anthropic API key in Settings > Lookups and agree to what is sent. Each lookup costs about $0.06 on your own Anthropic account. Fill the Gaps has a cap and a Wi-Fi only option. Without a key, everything else in the app still works.

Can I import my existing list?

Yes. Settings has CSV and Excel import, including Council-style sheets. Imported owned bottles come in as Sealed unless your sheet says otherwise; you can bulk-change the status afterwards.

How do I back up or export my collection?

Settings has a JSON backup and automatic folder backup, plus CSV export and an insurance-style inventory PDF.

Why is a bottle name missing from my widget?

Settings > Widgets > Show bottle names. It starts off when the Face ID lock is on, because Lock Screen widgets are visible without unlocking.

How do I delete everything?

Settings > Delete My Collection. This also removes the iCloud copy if sync is on.

What are “bottles” and “expressions”?

Bottles are physical bottles you own, including duplicates. Expressions are unique products. Ten copies of the same bourbon are ten bottles and one expression.

Does the app sell or deliver alcohol?

No. It is an inventory and tasting journal only. Prices and values are numbers you enter yourself.
